Amazing Bed Race in Downtown Burlington, Ontario

Posted on: Monday, September 24, 2012

On Sunday, September 23rd, DenBok Landscaping took part in the 3rd annual Amazing Bed Race organized by the Rotary Club of Burlington North in support of the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation. In all, 34 teams participated where they raced makeshift 'beds' down an approximately 100m stretch of Brant Street right around City Hall.

Although the Bed Race is a fun event, all in support of charity, there's no doubt there were some competitive juices flowing among the racers, and as such, there was a 'winner' of the event - "Family Ties" a group of local residents, and the runner up was Burlington Mazda. But of course, the real winner here is the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The event was a record-breaking success with over $100,000 being raised for the first time in the short history of the event. In the first 2 years of the event, a combined $170,000 was raised. The top fundraiser this year was Burlington Krown Rust Control, who raised $3200, and another 5 teams, including DenBok Landscaping raised over $2,000.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated, and we hope to see you out next year for another record-breaking event next year!
